Let's talk about the media's all-out blitz to destroy Pete Hegseth so you can navigate through this insane propaganda war

Check out the absolute smear campaign that hit the feeds yesterday against Trump's SecDef pick:

The actual news story here is that we have Republicans sniping at other Republicans to stop the Republican president from picking a Cabinet member they don't like.

Whatever the truth of the situation with Hegseth is, that's insanely wild (but not unexpected, sadly).

As for which Republican is stirring the pot the most, there's two particular names that have been floating around.

I can't confirm this, and it's wise not to rush into speculation without having evidence, but since I'm just a Midwestern voter trying to watch this newest poop show unfold in my nation's capital, I have to try to harvest data from the dregs of the internet to figure out what is going on.

The rumor is that Sen. Graham, who is passionate about the U.S. getting even further involved in the war in Ukraine in order to stick it to Russia, doesn't like Pete Hegseth, who doesn't want America to be involved in an Eastern European land war, especially when our involvement could easily spark WW3.

A typical tactic in an information/propaganda war is for a politician to anonymously "leak" something to their outlet of choice in order to give the media a scoop that can hurt their political opponents. The politician wins because they can deny involvement, the media wins because they get clicks and ad revenue, and they both win if their shared target gets knocked off the board.

But what is the truth? Well, Fox News reported that the Wall Street Journal's exclusive about Trump's concerns about Hegseth - and picking DeSantis as a replacement - is true.

Meanwhile, Jack Posobiec of Human Events said he had knowledge of a phone call between Trump and Hegseth this morning where Trump encouraged Hegseth to "keep fighting."

As for the claims from NBC that Hegseth was drunk on the job at Fox News, there's a few problems with that, including the fact that his former co-host calls it rubbish.

In another post, Cain called NBC's story "Bullsh***. 100 percent bulls***. Actually…horses***."

Other media hosts such as Dan Bongino echoed similar refrains.

Meanwhile, the producer of Megyn Kelly's show noticed that one of the three writers of NBC's hit piece is a reporter who covers the Pentagon.

It's important for you to understand how the game is played.

The bureaucrat class at the Pentagon -- the guys with lots and lots of medals on their chests for a career behind the safety of a desk -- the type of brass who like to virtue signal about inclusivity instead of lethality and go on rants about addressing "white rage" 👇

...they hate Pete Hegseth. He's a multiple-tour combat leader who wants to get rid of wokeness in the military. That involves kicking out the old guard who promoted that wokeness.

A reporter who covers the Pentagon and national security undoubtedly has friends (or at least mutually beneficial arrangements) inside the military command structure. When you see those reporters shift from covering the rampant inefficiencies and corruption in the current system to writing political hit pieces about the incoming nominee what wants to reform that system, it should cause you to stop for reflection, even if that introspection is based on conjecture. It's a pattern you can't ignore in this information war.

All of this comes after the left-wing media began stirring up the rumor mill against Hegseth when Trump announced him as his SecDef pick a week after the election.

Some of the rumors have cast light on actual sin in Hegseth's past. He has been married three times and has a history of cheating. The story about his one-night stand in 2017 with a married woman during a conference while the woman's husband was in the hotel watching their kids is true, though the Kavanaugh-esque claim from the woman that the affair was not consensual is riddled with holes (I'm putting it nicely).

When that attack angle didn't work, the media released a leaked message from Hegseth's mother that rebuked him for his behavior during that time.

Since then, Hegseth has reportedly been repentant and has turned to Jesus Christ. He attends Pilgrim Hill Reformed Fellowship in Tennessee, part of the Christian Reformed Evangelical Church denomination founded by Idaho pastor and author Douglas Wilson.

His pastor, Brooks Potteiger, has defended Hegseth's repentance and conviction for Christ on social media. Consider his response to this post:

In addition, Hegseth's mother has come out to defend her son's character on national TV.

All of these are data points for you, ladies and gentlemen. I'm not here to tell you that Pete Hegseth is the best man for SecDef, but what I want (and I assume you want) is to have the best person to reform our military so that it is moral, lethal, and works for the interests of Americans instead of warhawks.

Information is power and it is the weapon of choice for wormtongues who want to manipulate you to get rid of people they don't like.

The fact that there has been such a dedicated smear campaign against Hegseth -- not only from the Left but from the slimier elements on the Right -- seems to prove that he is dangerous to the corrupt regime.

And if that is the case, well, he just might be the man for the job.
