The Pittsburgh Penguins were supposed to have a bobblehead giveaway but the ENTIRE truckload of bobbleheads was stolen 😭
· Mar 15, 2024 · NottheBee.com

The Pittsburgh Penguins had to cancel their bobblehead promotion because someone stole the truck that was delivering the bobbleheads of retired player Jaromír Jágr.

After the shipment of bobbleheads never arrived (we are talking about thousands upon thousands of bobbleheads here), those investigating discovered that the truck that was supposed to bring the bobbleheads never made it out of California and was hijacked somewhere in the Golden State.

"We were shocked to be a victim of cargo theft, and we are working closely with local and federal authorities on the investigation" said Penguins President of Business Operations Kevin Acklin. "While this unfortunate incident adds to the legend of Jaromir Jagr, who will be in attendance as our guest at tonight's game, we look forward to resolving this theft and delivering the prized Jagr bobbleheads to their rightful homes, with our fans," said Acklin.

I don't know if I would be this confident about recovering thousands of plastic bobbleheads, but given the nature of this story, the merch might be tough to sell or dump without raising a few eyebrows.

The Penguins are dedicated to making their fans happy and are promising to make things right. Any fan who was in attendance at last night's game against the San Jose Sharks who should have received a bobblehead will be given a one-time scannable bar code and the opportunity to redeem it for a bobblehead whenever they are recovered.
