The streets of Leeds burned this week because police took migrant kids into protective custody. Here are the details.

Maybe importing lots of people from wildly different cultures with vastly different worldviews and beliefs systems was a bad idea.

That was the scene in the British city of Leeds on Thursday after police took a migrant child into protective custody.

From Andy Ngo:

A migrant community in the Harehills neighborhood of Leeds, England attacked police on July 18, 2024 as revenge for their response to help child protective workers who came to a home with endangered children.

The police safely removed the children and social workers before coming under a mass attack.

Here is video of one of the children being taken into protective custody:

Harehills is a Muslim-majority community with many residents coming from Pakistan and other countries. Those who first began rioting were Romanian Roma, also known as 'gypsies,' though it appears other migrant groups eventually joined in the violence.

After police seemingly abandoned the area, the migrant mob set fire to a bus, then set up fiery barricades in the streets.

[Warning: Language, Violence]

Assistant Chief Constable Pat Twiggs (the most British name for a police officer ever), said that police retreated from the area because they had ascertained that officers were "their sole target."

(Tell that to the bus!)

The decision was then made to temporarily withdraw officers in order to calm tensions.

He added: 'Throughout the night several arrests were made in relation to the disorder and further arrests will be made over the next few days.'

A local councilman, Mothin Ali (how's that for a British name?), tried to stop the mob from burning things, but failed.

Welcome to ... England?

Another local resident, a guy with the Christian English name "Paul," was horrified by the spectacle.

'I don't like my kids being around this. It's just not right,' he told PA news agency.

What a racist!

Now for some thoughts, because it's Friday and why the heck not.

One can debate the merits of cross-cultural immigration and make a compelling argument for allowing men with the last name "Ali" to become productive citizens of England.

But what's happening right now is not a regulated system of integration where the government of the U.K. protects its heritage, culture, and citizens by carefully vetting migrants who wish to become part of English, Scottish, Cornish, Welsh, or Irish history.

Instead, it is mass importing a conquering group of people who know so little about British civilization that they don't even understand the practice or procedure of child protective services. They are placed in a pressure cooker of competing belief systems, and their inevitable reaction is violence.

Not only are these mass migration policies harmful, but they don't build bridges between cultures. They create micro-ghetto states and increase tensions between people groups.

From Ngo again:

Many areas of immigrant England operate as parallel societies where police are encouraged not to intervene. This leaves children, women and other vulnerable people often at the mercy of those who use violence and threats. For example, Islamic migrant communities in England operated rape and grooming gangs for years under the nose of local authorities.

While many of us might be suspect of the intentions of our woke overlords putting kids into protective custody, you don't see mass riots when it happens among those who understand the values, culture, laws, and processes of Western nations - even when they might actually be justified!

In the 8th-century AD, Saint Bede wrote briefly about the city of Leeds, which was once a forested area of the Celtic kingdom of Elmet.

Just as Elmet no longer exists, but gave way to the kingdoms of the Anglos and the Normans, England today is fading away into something new.

I wonder what new name Leeds will have when that day comes.
