The tallest building in the United States will be built in a city you've probably never been to

Whoever had "tallest skyscraper in the U.S. to be built in a midwestern city of less than a million" on their 2024 bingo, please come up to collect your prize!

Plans to build the tallest skyscraper in the United States are shaping up in an unlikely metropolis: Oklahoma City.

Developers at a real estate company are adjusting the already ambitious plans to construct the Boardwalk at Bricktown tower by a few hundred feet to make the building reach 1,907 feet high — which would make it the tallest in the country, the Oklahoma City Free Press reported.

Everyone upon hearing "Oklahoma City:"

Ha ha, just kidding! Obviously Oklahoma City is in Oklahoma:

Although it's not too crazy to imagine that "Oklahoma City" might be located in another state. "Kansas City," after all, is in Missouri, and there are plenty of other cities named after states in which they are not located, such as Virginia City in Nevada and Michigan City, Indiana.

But I digress. Here's the 134-story skyscraper that they want to build in [checks notes again] Oklahoma City:

It's a big one!

The tower would include a hotel, retail space, and a restaurant.

The New York Post, meanwhile, is coming in for the low burn:

Plans for the structure consist of three towers, each about 345 feet tall, and a fourth tower jutting 1,907 feet into the sky, dominating Oklahoma City's otherwise unremarkable skyline.

I guess it won't be unremarkable for much longer!
