The University of Virginia booted more than 200 students because they wouldn't get the COVID-19 vaccine

Just in case you thought the vaccine debate was cooling off, rest assured it is most certainly not:

The University has disenrolled 238 students, primarily undergraduates, for not complying with the University's COVID-19 vaccine requirement, which the University announced in May and applies to all students living, learning and working on Grounds in the fall. Four students previously disenrolled came into compliance with the mandate Thursday, and the remaining have one week to comply with the mandate.

Many individuals who suffer adverse professional and personal consequences for not getting the vaccine will very likely opt to get it just for convenience's sake. Still many others, however, will not.

And what will eventually become of that demographic—the relatively small but still likely sizable contingent of Americans who simply refuse to get the vaccine at all? Will institutions relent and relax their vaccine requirements? What if they don't? However hectic this issue seems right now, you can be guaranteed it is only just beginning—especially with the full FDA approval looming.
