Dems wear black to mourn as Utah Legislature passes bans on equity curriculum and boys in girls' restrooms

The Utah Legislature just passed a couple of bills banning racist "equity" curriculum from public schools and protecting girls from boys in their bathrooms, so of course the Democrats there are in mourning.

No, this isn't a bad Babylon Bee story. The Democrats actually wore black like they were at a funeral to signify their sadness and mourning over these two bills.

That's because we are hurting and we join our communities that are marginalized communities, vulnerable communities as we just came out of the Senate floor that passed HB257 and HB261.

They're dressed like they're at a funeral! They're in mourning because DEI finally D-I-E-D!

  • HB257 passed the senate with a 21-8 vote to keep boys who think they're girls out of the girls' restroom in schools.
  • HB261 passed the senate with a 23-6 party-line vote to ban DEI from Utah's public universities

(Who are the 2 Republicans who oppose DEI but support letting men use the ladies' room?? What's up with that?)

The two bills were both amended in the state senate, so they have to pass the state house one more time before they can be sent to the desk of Governor He/Him.

Fingers crossed on that one!
