I've been under the impression for years that a genocide looks horrific and brutal — like the Holocaust, or the Holodomor, or the Rwandan atrocity.
I was not aware that barring men from girls' locker rooms constituted a "genocide." But evidently our self-appointed experts feel that way!
The gay-themed Washington Blade reports:
Earlier this week, the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention and Human Security issued a haunting warning. Dr. Elisa von Joeden-Forgey, president of the Lemkin Institute, stated that the U.S. is in the 'early-to-mid stages of a genocidal process against trans and nonbinary and intersex people.' Dr. Gregory Santon, former president of the International Association of Genocide Scholars, flags 'a hardening of categories' surrounding gender in a 'totalitarian' way.
Ah yes, the "hardening of categories" regarding the obvious, incontestable, and immutable two sexes of the human race that nobody has disputed for many thousands of years until the past decade or so.
Sounds genocidal to me!
According to the experts, the "genocidal process" is "really about destroying identities, destroying groups through all sorts of means."
I was under the impression that "genocide" was actually about destroying the lives of individual people through violence and death; I'm not familiar with the definition of "genocide" that includes "telling boys they can't take part in girls' sporting events." Then again, I'm not an expert.
Of course, if this is what the "expert" class comes up with, I'll happily remain ignorant, thanks.
And of course they brought up the Nazis.
'The Nazis, like other genocidal groups, believed that national strength and existential power could only be achieved through an imposition of a strict gender binary within the racially pure "national community." A fundamentalist gender binary was a key feature of Nazi racial politics and genocide.'
You know, I suppose it's maybe an encouraging thing that Nazism in the 21st century has gone from "actual genocide" to "not wanting mentally ill men to access women's private spaces." If nothing else it shows that Nazism as a genocidal ideology has utterly collapsed!
Thank goodness nobody wants actual genocide — we just want women and girls to be safe.
