Marc Fogel was arrested by Russia in 2021 for possession of 0.6 ounces of prescribed medical marijuana, the same charge that landed WNBA player Brittany Griner in a Russian prison. He was sentenced to 14 years behind bars.
The Biden admin was able to negotiate her release, but only by releasing an arms dealer known worldwide as the "Merchant of Death." Not exactly an even trade, to say the least!
Meanwhile, Trump got Fogel freed after 3 weeks on the job.
He then personally welcomed him home, along with the speaker of the House and the US secretary of state. 👇
The haters will say that's just a PR stunt, as if every politician on the planet doesn't engage in such things.
But Biden could have easily had this same moment. Yet his administration didn't even acknowledge that Fogel had been wrongfully detained until August 1, 2024, when former National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan finally said something about it.
I guess Biden just didn't care enough.
Two thoughts for ya before I head out.
First, there's something special about America. Don't let the wokies convince you otherwise.
Second, when Trump lost in 2020 and the lefties said the "adults" were back in charge, we were told that said "adults" were the compassionate, caring ones. We were also told the "adults" had the most nuanced, expert take on foreign affairs and negotiation.
So why is it that the "adults" couldn't get a schoolteacher home in 4 years, while the mean orange man was able to do it in less than a month?
