This Chicago church is "fasting from whiteness" for Lent by excluding any worship music or sermon elements from white Christians

But for real.

You know, I missed in Paul's letter to the Galatians where he told Greek and Roman believers to divest themselves of their oppressor status based entirely on their skin color. I mean, the Roman Empire was a truly brutal entity that subjugated most of the settled world under its boot for centuries – a far cry from even the most barbaric sins committed under our American experiment in liberty.

"There is only Jew, only slave and oppressor, and is there separation based on one of many two-spirited genders, for you all have separate worth in Christ Jesus." – The Epistle of Anti-Galatians 3:28

Really, I don't even need to comb through this garbage heap to call it the literal spirit of the Antichrist and a heresy from the pit of hell.

It quite literally flies in the face of everything the Bible teaches in favor of some neo-Marxist cult dogma.

Let's break down the details anyway:

Yes, this is from First United's website.

Isn't it ironic that they try to sanitize their commie, anti-God nonsense in the first paragraph with a quick "united in Christ" statement in the second?

Oh, you want those "of all ages, nations, races, and origins" to be united in the body of Christ?

I'm sure separating out brothers and sisters based entirely on their melanin levels, then teaching those with high-enough melanin levels that they are oppressed victims under the heel of those less-melanated brothers and sisters is the PERFECT way to achieve unity in Christ.

Here's a video of Lydia Mulkey, the associate pastor of education (I'm just gonna note that she's a women and drop some more Bible at ya).

In this fast from whiteness, of course, I cannot change the color of my skin or the way that allows me to move through the world but I can change what I listen to, whose voice I prioritize. And so that is kind of the place for our worship services, through Lent, that we would fast for a time from prioritizing white voices.

This is literally preaching the Gospel of Ibram X. Kendi and Robin DiAngelo, not Christ.

Repent before it is too late.

Seriously, think of what message this sends: Oh, you were one of the millions of brothers and sisters who advanced the Gospel throughout Europe for the first 1,500 years after Christ, overcoming the utter depravity and harshness of that continent across cultures, plagues, languages, and war – being burned at the stake, beheaded, starved, drawn and quartered, and abused – all so people could hear of the love of Jesus?

EUROCENTRIC BIGOTS.

Oh, you were one of the millions of believers in the last 500 years who followed the God-given opportunity of advancing technology to travel the world in the spirit of Romans 10:14 – often suffering slow, painful deaths so that everyone could hear how they can be saved from God's rightful judgement if they believe in the death and resurrection of His Son?

WHITE COLONIALIST TRASH!

I'd rather someone be an atheistic woke person than this type of unfettered, lukewarm heresy. Better to deny Christ entirely than to twist His Gospel in this way!

First United has even erected an outdoor sign to promote their choice for the 40-day religious observance despite the fact that the church's lead pastor, Rev. John Edgerton himself white...

Turning Point USA captured footage of the sign, with the conservative website blasting the stunt for moving America 'back to segregation times'...

Edgerton has form for woke virtue-signaling, and bragged about being arrested for confronting former Utah Senator Orrin Hatch in 2017 about a proposed repeal of the Affordable Care Act.

Here's Turning Point USA's video about the church sign.

The United Church of Christ at large is totally fine with this too. From The Washington Times:

...The Rev. Craig Howard, the executive presbyter of the United Church's Chicago district, told The Washington Times in an interview that he had not been aware of the "fast" at First United Church in Oak Park, located about 11 miles west of the city. Based on what a reporter described to him from the website and the March 6 service, he said he supported the move.

"I find it's like a reversal of the racialized reality in which we live," Mr. Howard said. "Where, in this reality, the assumption is that what is to be known, is what the majority culture, the White culture, determines or says these are the rules."

It is totally fine to incorporate worship music and traditions from other bodies of believers of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. As long as it's theologically sound, it's gonna be 1,000% better than the heretical stuff most of us sing from Hillsong and Elevation these days.

But purposely excluding one group of believers based entirely on an arbitrary set of external characteristics (even with good intentions, with which the road to hell is paved) is quite literally a Trojan Horse that the devil wants to use to divide the body of Christ.

And this "church" is falling right into step with that plan.
