THE BEST: This British couple is going to use their £100,000 lottery win to foster children 😌

Mark and Kathleen Reece of Worcestershire, UK, have wanted to become foster parents for many years, but after having three kids of their own, they never had the space in their home to take in any more children.

But one day recently, Mark asked Kathleen to check the winning numbers on a EuroMillions ticket he had bought while he went out to the store to buy milk.

When he came home, he learned that he was £100,770 (over $126,000) richer and their small home became less of an obstacle to their dream of serving children in need.

Kathleen said she and her daughter checked the ticket, despite her admitted annoyance towards her husband's fruitless lotto-ticket-buying-shenanigans in the past, and saw that he had won.

She initially thought her husband was playing a practical joke on her.

She said,

I decided to call the number on the back of the ticket and was talking to a lady from The National Lottery when Mark came home with the milk.

I told him to shush, as I was on the phone to The National Lottery. His jaw dropped.

He looked at me in disbelief so I put the phone on speaker and the lady confirmed we'd won £100,770.

The couple plans to use the money to convert their garage into an additional bedroom so that they can welcome foster children into their home and family.

Kathleen went on to say,

My three kids will be leaving home soon and I have too much love to give. I've always wanted to foster, however having enough space has always been an issue.

Thanks to the win it'll no longer be a problem. I'm so happy we can finally fulfill our dream.

I couldn't think of a better way to spend $100,000.

Good for them, and best wishes to their family as they start the process of becoming foster parents!
