This dude drove a dealership's loaner BMW to go rob a bank, returned to the dealer with the car, and then tried to buy a BMW with the cash he had stolen

Eric Dion Warren was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison last week for a 2019 bank robbery in which he used a loaner BMW as his getaway car.

Now, to me, this kiiiiiiiinnnda seems like a plausible idea if you're the bank-robbing type. I'm not saying that's me, so don't judge, but a loaner car that's totally not yours... might not be such a bad idea.

I am just kidding, of course.

So Warren showed up to the bank, and I'm sure like any good BMW owner he double parked the car to avoid getting dinged, and headed into the building to rob the place.

He approached one of the tellers and placed a paper fast food bag and a demand note on the counter which read: "This is a f------ robbery. Play with me and die. I want $10,000 in 50 and 100 dollar bills now you got 1 minute or I will kill you." Mr. Warren then pulled out what appeared to be a handgun [but was just a painted pellet gun] and said, "I ain't playing around, I only want 100s and 50s."

Warren didn't have the means to go full-blown bank robbery (sad), so he was only able to rob the teller, and soon walked out with just over $5,000.

But this next part just kills me, it really does.

Immediately after robbing the bank, and probably the only reason he did so, Warren headed back to the BMW dealership to return the loaner AND FINALIZE HIS PURCHASE OF A BRAND NEW BEEMER! Apparently he began "waving the cash" at employees when he arrived back (not suspicious at all) and then headed into the finance office to throw down a $3,000 down payment.

Shockingly, though, it didn't work out for him:

While Mr. Warren was in the dealership's finance office, an employee received a phone call informing him of the recent bank robbery. The employee realized that the vehicle used in the bank robbery matched the vehicle the dealership had loaned to Mr. Warren and he alerted law enforcement.

Warren was later arrested and will now serve 20 years in federal prison.

WOMP WOMP WOMP WOOOOMP!

Sad story, bro.

Maybe next time...
