This gamer was struck in the head by a stray bullet that flew through his window. The headset he had on saved his life.

This is a crazy story right here, and the more I think about it, the more emotional it becomes.

Yes, you read that correctly. That Razer headset literally saved this kid's life!

18-year-old Jonathan Gonzalez was chilling playing PlayStation with a few friends online around midnight on April Fool's Day when out of nowhere something struck him in the head.

"It felt like if you're wearing a bike helmet and someone just smacks the top of your head…If it wasn't for these (the headset) on my head, it probably would've went through," he said.

Here's the headset:

Amazing!

The stray bullet came through the window of his Los Angeles home, struck him in the headset, ricocheted around the room a few times, and then landed on his bed.

Gonzalez began to scream, as he assumed he'd been shot, and soon his mother entered the room to comfort him.

"It's still a trigger for me to process the thought that I could've lost my son," said Gonzalez's mother, Janet Popoca. "We were asleep and if it did hurt him, we would not have known until we woke up hours later."

Such a stroke of luck this was for this family!

They quite literally dodged a bullet on this one.

And here's my favorite part of the story:

Razer sent Gonzalez a brand new headset after learning of the incident.

I love that! That's awesome!

Let the kid play video games for the rest of his life! Dude could've been a goner!

Here's Gonzalez with CBS Los Angeles:

LAPD is investigating this shooting, though the chances of finding a shooter are slim.

As we reported the other day, Los Angeles is becoming a criminal war zone, meaning more insane stuff like this is likely to happen in the near future.
