Alright, I've got a "cutest story of the day" contestant for you!
Trimble County High School junior Brett Liter is the best tractor driver in Kentucky, after winning a contest with the state's FFA program, and he found a unique way to put all that plowing practice to practical use.
He plowed out the question "PROM?" in his grandfather's field, using his 1971 Allis-Chalmers 210 tractor in order to ask out a classmate, Matelyn Smith, to their first prom.
You can go to Instagram and watch an interview with Liter here.
When asked how he came up with the idea to plow his question out, Liter said,
I'm a farmer. She's a farmer. I'm in FFA. It's my heritage and I just thought it'd be a great idea to do what I do best.
The highschooler said that it took him about 40 minutes to plow out the one-word message, but,
If she would have said no, I would have been out there plowing until midnight to get it covered it up.
Thankfully, the young lady said yes.
After seeing the giant promposal (that could only fully be read from an aerial view) Matelyn told WAVE News,
I did not expect all that. I was expecting maybe a little poster, but when I seen that, I almost cried.
To give you an idea of just how big the word was, here's a picture from drone video of the couple standing in the middle of the word (that white speck is Liter's t-shirt!)
Liter responded very candidly saying,
I just went out there and I done what I done best. I'm probably better at plowing a field than I would writing on a poster with a marker.
You gotta love a man who knows his strengths.
These two friends seem like some really down-to-earth high highschoolers (pun intended) and I hope they have a great time at their first prom.
