We all remember when Trump officially announced that during his term, official government policy would only recognize 2 genders.

But not so fast, Trump! The historians at the CBC, the Canadian-government-funded leftist rag, are here to prove how wrong you are!
First up, let's hear from trusted historian Benny Michaud, an adjunct professor at Carleton University and director of the Centre for Indigenous Initiatives.
Benny refers to himself, or herself, or itself as "tasta-ee-iniw," which means a person who is 'in-between.'
Michaud says the gender binary is the result of colonialism, because, of course it is.
[Colonial powers] utilized gender as a way to colonize our communities, first by diminishing the voices of women, and second by vilifying people whose genders were not man or woman.
For hundreds of years in our communities, we were not able to express ourselves in the way that we had been able to before.
So what are some of these historical examples of "new genders" cited in the article?
One is a military surgeon named James Barry, pictured below.
According to the article, he was "outed" as a trans person at death when he asked to be "buried in the bedsheets he died in."
