Before watching this absolutely insane clip, let me remind you that this high school student is vaccinated, and the CDC is now finally telling people that it's okay to take off your mask most places indoors.
With that in mind, please enjoy this teacher's meltdown:
"I don't care if you're vaccinated, you little dink. I don't want to get sick and die. There's other people you can infect just because you're vaccinated. You know what? You're not a special person around here.
You should hear about how everyone talks about you around here. You're a jerk. You're a jerk. And you need to have respect for other people in your life. You're not a big man on campus, quit walking around here like you have a stick up your butt."
Hoo boy.
The incident happened at Poynette High School in Wisconsin and the teacher has reportedly been placed on leave.
As our very own Seth Dillon so delicately pointed out, this teacher is not in the best of shape. With 78% of COVID patients with severe symptoms being obese, she certainly might have greater cause for concern.
For most of human history, people have risked insane things for the sake of the next generation. Even emperor penguins will march through a literal blizzard for months on end to see a single chick hatch.
In COVID times, however, we've chosen to cannibalize the kids. We can't be made to get ourselves in shape or put ourselves at greater risk. We have to shame and mask and lock up the youngest among for our own sake and to alleviate our own fear.
Reminds me just a bit of that fairy tale archetype of the evil queen:
