Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck on Wednesday afternoon at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
There have been conflicting reports as to what happened. The university said the shot came from a nearby building about 200 yards away. Other witnesses said it came from much closer.
Videos quickly circulated of a man taken into custody, but his involvement with the situation has not been made clear:

The university now says that a suspect has NOT been taken into custody.
According to The Times, the man seen on video was NOT the shooter.
The campus is closed but somehow they have not caught a shooter at a large, crowded venue and they haven't given the public any information to help catch the perp?
What is going on?
As of 4:30 p.m. EST, Kirk was still fighting for his life in the hospital.
