How would you like to be this kid?

Fourteen years old and your first driving lessons come in the midst of a quickly-approaching wildfire.

Ruben Navarrete lives out in the Sierra Nevadas just east of Fresno, California, with his aunt, uncle, three younger cousins, and his brother, who uses a wheelchair.

Forced to evacuate late Monday night due to the approaching Creek Fire, the family packed into three cars, the third one driven by Ruben with his brother sitting copilot.

Ruben kept his eyes on the narrow road and away from the approaching flames behind him. He also avoided eye contact with the "really big steep hill" at the edge of the road. Eventually, after 20 miles, the family made it safely to the town of Clovis where they got a hotel for the week.

Way to go Ruben, you're a hero!
