A Chinese man living in Japan attempted to summit Mt. Fuji and had to be rescued last Tuesday.
And then again on Saturday.

The man actually reached the summit on Tuesday, completing the climb in one piece, but got some altitude sickness, meaning he had to be rescued from the peak.
After he recovered, the man returned to the mountain that weekend because, you guessed it, he left his cell phone there.

Authorities say that the man's life is not in danger from the double bout with altitude sickness.
However, his wallet could be in danger as the man illegally climbed the mountain out of season and without a permit twice in a single week.
The man made the double ascent of Japan's most famous mountain outside of the official climbing season, which runs from July 10 to September 10.
According to the official Mount Fuji website, all trails to the summit are closed and most of the trail signs have been removed, with all huts, toilets and first aid stations also shut for the off season.
Maybe if he followed the rules there would have been other people to help, and even first aid stations opened along the way.
But no. He needed to go NOW.
