This is nuts!

600 STRAIGHT DAYS!!!

The current water temperature in Milwaukee: 35.8 degrees!!

And this dude just wakes up every morning and hops right in.

When asked about the 600-day streak, Koepnick explained, "It never was about going in there every single day. It was about making every single day count."

Crazy, right?

Not so fast.

Ever heard of Cold Water Immersion therapy?

Cold Water Immersion (CWI) is a form of cold water therapy, which improves the natural recovery process of the human body. A well-known type of Cold Water Immersion, is taking ice baths or cold showers. Cold Water Immersion is a great way to activate the body's natural healing powers, and to make it able to relieve symptoms of various medical conditions. When practiced on a regular basis, the positive effects of exposure last even longer. Over time, Cold Water Immersion improves your cardiovascular circulation, reduces muscle inflammation, facilitates weight loss, improves mood alleviates stress, and improves immunity.

Yup, this is actually a thing. And before you go about trying this yourself, please check out this webpage for more information.

Paul Koepnick is a seasoned Cold Water Immersion veteran, and he's even started his own business in the name of CWI (and wellness in general). It's called Cold Water Effect, and you can join him on the Milwaukee lakefront if you want to take a relaxing plunge into the ice-cold waters of Lake Michigan.

Me? I'll be hanging out next to my fireplace like a normal person...
