Jamaal Williams just broke the legendary Barry Sanders' rushing touchdown record in the Lions' win last night against Green Bay, and man oh man was he feeling all the feels after the game:
I absolutely love it.
If you don't know, Jamaal's great-grandfather passed away at 93 on December 29, following his wife who passed away last April after 73 years of marriage. Because of the last game of the regular season in Colorado Springs, Jamaal couldn't attend the funeral, so these past few weeks, he's been fired up to win big for his family.
Right now, I've been going through a lot of death in my family, so I know they're getting old, and the time is coming, but it's still hard at the same time, but you've got to play football.... Like, I couldn't even make my great-grandfather's funeral because it was on Saturday. It hurts, but at the same time, I know they're looking over me and they're proud for me upstairs. I just pray, and that's how I talk to them.
Now I'm the one tearing up, dang it.
The GOAT congratulated Jamaal as well:
