This should be a REALLY big deal, guys

Seriously, this is massive.

From Richard H. Ebright, Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Rutgers University:

Before getting into the attached letter, let me review what this is talking about.

You know that Fauci guy? The dude who has definitely not flip-flopped on every medical position over the last 19 months, who has respected freedom over tyranny, and has been the highest-paid government employee for decades?

After it came to light that he personally was involved in the U.S. government grants going to the lab in Wuhan, China to study coronaviruses in bats, he swore in front of Congress that there was no "gain-of-function" research happening there, or research that takes viruses in other animals and tries to adapt them to infect humans.

Here's Fauci telling Sen. Rand Paul a few months ago that there was no NIH funded gain-of-function research in Wuhan:

Sen. Paul, with all due respect, you are entirely and complete incorrect, that the NIH has not ever and does not now, fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology

DIRECT QUOTE:

Sen. Paul, with all due respect, you are entirely and complete incorrect, that the NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

With that in mind, read the following from the above letter, which was sent from the National Institutes of Health to Congressman James Comer:

The limited experiment described in the final progress report provided by EcoHealth Alliance was testing if spike proteins from naturally occurring bat coronaviruses circulating in China were capable of binding to the human ACE2 receptor in a mouse model.

This is, quite literally, gain-of-function research.

Here's a more technical explanation for those interested:

The NIH asserts that the viruses being studied were different than Covid-19, and since there was no indication that coronaviruses in bats could affect humans (hindsight is 20/20!), they went ahead and approved the grant to this private group, EcoHealth, that was leading the study in Wuhan.

The research plan was reviewed by NIH in advance of funding, and NIH determined that it did not to [sic] fit the definition of research involving enhanced pathogens of pandemic potential (ePPP) because these bat coronaviruses had not been shown to infect humans.

However, out of an abundance of caution and as an additional layer of oversight, language was included in the terms and conditions of the grant award to EcoHealth that outlined criteria for a secondary review.

That's nice.

The problem?

After millions of deaths worldwide from a bat coronavirus released in Wuhan, the people studying bat coronaviruses in Wuhan haven't complied with all the reporting requirements.

EcoHealth failed to report this finding right away... EcoHealth is being notified that they have five days from today to submit to NIH any and all unpublished data from the experiments and workd conducted under this award. Additional compliance efforts continue.

All this time, governments have been going after maskless toddlers instead of the people who unleashed this monstrosity. Think about that.

The NIH assured the representative that the bat viruses being studied were "decades removed" from a relationship with the one that's killed millions of people.

But that's not the point.

The point is that multiple high-ranking officials lied to Congress.

As to the relationship between the viruses, I guess we should just assume there's no way that the most advanced police state on the planet – the one that just flew a hypersonic nuke into space without anyone knowing – couldn't have possibly been involved in pushing more deadly research at the lab...

Or that those involved – from Fauci to the NIH to EcoHealth Alliance and others – don't have several million reasons to hide any malfeasance.

Sen. Rand Paul, who has gone after Fauci like a bloodhound on this issue, had this to say:

Remember that the media tried to portray Sen. Paul as the villain just a few months ago:

This should be a big deal. One of the biggest in both American and world history. Fauci should be immediately stripped of his posting and imprisoned for lying to Congress, if not crimes against humanity.

Instead, no one is talking about it and Fauci has a documentary on Disney Plus. Ponder that one really hard.

I'll let Sen. Paul have the final word:
