“This situation is about right and wrong, good and evil!” Watch this superintendent’s epic defense of children in schools
· May 21, 2024 · NottheBee.com

Parents have always worried about what their children are being exposed to when they leave their front door in the morning. But unfortunately these days, their worries have gone beyond bullies or too much candy, and now include pornography in schools.

If there were more superintendents like Chris Ragsdale, parents wouldn't have to worry.

WATCH:

This began back in August 2023, when Libs of TikTok reached out to the Cobb County School District in Georgia to ask why they were offering pornographic themed books to students. These books include Flamer, which "contains graphic depictions of sex and discusses watching porn and masturbation," and Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, which "discusses oral sex in graphic detail."

Not exactly Moby Dick, is it?

Just two days later, Libs of TikTok received this response from Chief Strategy and Accountability Officer, John Floresta:

Thank you for alerting us to these books. Frankly, we weren't aware of the sexually-explicit content in these books until your email. Any book, video, or lesson which contains sexually-explicit content is entirely unacceptable and have no place in our schools, period. Over the weekend, we have removed both books from all our schools.

At the direction of our Board and Superintendent, we are unapologetically holding our staff accountable to only use content which is aligned to Georgia standards, our Board's policies, and the Law.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention, you have made our schools better for our students.

And if that wasn't enough of a win, Cobb County then released a long thread on X explaining their strategy for dealing with this issue, noting that "it shouldn't be a surprise when educators remove sexually explicit content from the reach of children," and that "In Cobb, with over 100k students and nearly one million taxpayers, parents decide how to raise their children, we teach."

It culminated in that epic speech by Superintendent Chris Ragsdale.

If every superintendent was like him, schools would be a far safer place!
