"To Kill A Mockingbird" is yet again under fire for promoting "white saviourism"

One of the greatest books of all time will no longer be taught in one Scotland school due to their attempts to "decolonize" their curriculum.

Unfortunately for Tom Robinson, the falsely accused character in the book, Atticus Finch kind of failed as a white savior (spoiler!), but I doubt the people canceling this book have read to the end.

It's not the first time the classic book has been denounced by the woke, despite its anti-racist nature (in the sense that it is actually anti-racism.)

According to the head of the English department at James Gillespie High School in Edinburgh,

They are now taught less frequently because those novels are dated and problematical (sic) in terms of decolonising the curriculum. Their lead characters are not people of colour.

The representation of people of colour is dated, and the use of the N-word and the use of the white saviour motif in Mockingbird – these have led us as a department to decide that these really are not texts we want to be teaching third year anymore.

I would like to add that the entire movie is a bit dated.

I mean, they hadn't even invented color back then.
