To the Ohio man who has been carrying a mutated strain of Covid for two years: Public health officials want a word with you
· Apr 29, 2023 · NottheBee.com

How often do we have "manhunts" like this anymore? It's about time we had another manhunt.

Scientists are trying to track down an Ohio resident who they believe is the longest-standing Covid patient ever, DailyMail.com can reveal.

The patient - thought to live in the Columbus area - is carrying a highly mutated version of the virus that is 'unlike anything' experts have seen.

Apparently the strain is being picked up in wastewater along a "40-mile area." Scientists are worried that the strain could be serious if it begins to circulate in the general population.

Maybe I'm wrong about this, but: If this thing has been out there for two years and it's only ever infected one person, doesn't it seem unlikely that it's going to spread beyond that one guy?

Well maybe that's now how it works. In any event, what have scientists gathered about this mystery viral man?

  • The fellow likely "commutes between Columbus and Washington Court House."
  • He may have a weakened immune system.
  • Or he may not: One doctor is "convinced the patient is healthy and may travel for work or school," though he "could not rule out a chronically ill person who commutes for hospital care."
  • It might also be more than one person.

Are you sleuths taking all this down?

If anybody sees someone in Ohio matching this description please let him know the health guys are looking for him.
