The president will visit the Arabian Gulf states of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates to discuss trade, Israel, and Iran. In his first term, Trump's administration authored the Abraham Accords, in which the UAE, Bahrain, and Morocco legally recognized the nation of Israel, allowing trade to be established between Israel and Muslim Arab nations for the first time.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt had this to say about the current visit:
Now, eight years later, President Trump will return to reemphasize his continued vision for a proud, prosperous, and successful Middle East, where the United States and Middle Eastern nations are in cooperative relationships, and where extremism is defeated in place of commerce and cultural exchanges.
