Don't look now, but a new poll from Emerson College shows one Donald J. Trump currently AHEAD of President Joe Biden by 3 points in a hypothetical rematch for the 2024 presidential election.
In the poll:
- 44% of people said they'd vote for Trump
- 41% said they'd vote for Biden
- 10% said they'd vote for someone else
- 4% were still on the fence
This is a yuge swing from Emerson's PREVIOUS poll in November, where Biden had a 4-point lead over Trump.
Remarkably, plenty of people on both sides of the aisle are down for a rematch, according to the poll. 58% of Democratic primary voters said they think Biden should be the nominee, and 55% of Republicans said they think Trump should be the nominee.
Trump's also way ahead of his closest Republican competitor, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, by 26 points. But DeSantis has actually gained a bit of ground on Trump since the last poll.
