Trump showed up to the Libertarian Party convention last night and, as LP conventions go ... it really wasn't that bad.
And it was great for Trump getting to do a little trolling.
What a chad.
The Libertarian Party should nominate Trump for President of the United States! [BOOOOO!] Whoa! That's nice. That's nice. Only if you want to win! Only if you want to win. Maybe you don't want to win. Maybe you don't want to win. ...
Shows up. Asks for their support. Calls them losers. Leaves.
Here's more. It'll give you context.
Think of this, first time in US History that a Presidential candidate of a rival party will address the convention of a party that is presumably gathering tonight to nominate its own candidate.
Now I think you should nominate me or at least vote for me and we should win together. ...
Trump was so real for that. It was amazing.
Nothing offends the lol-bertarians more than pointing out that they're just a bunch of losers. Sure, Trump promised to accomplish some libertarian goals, but they don't want to accomplish anything, I guess.
So what is the purpose of the Libertarian Party getting 3%? What is the reason to take a chance of having this horrible president [Biden] destroy our country - which he will do in far less than 4 years ... That is why I'm committing to you tonight that I will put a libertarian in my cabinet and libertarians in senior posts ...
Then they boo him again! "No! We don't want ANY power or any position! It's utter failure or NOTHING!"
It's really so funny.
The troll-master continues:
Or you can keep going the way you have for the last long decades, and get your 3% and meet again, get another 3%. No, you wanna make yourselves winners. It's time to be winners. You've got a lot of common sense. It's time to be winners.
This is just so perfect. Sure, there are smart libertarians out there. They aren't all losers. But this convention is so funny. They boo the man offering to give them a little bit of power. He says, "Wouldn't you like to win?" and they boo him.
It's like they don't understand that we ALL have to give up a little bit of what we like, or a lot, in order to win. No candidate is perfect.
I mean, does anything represent Republicans and Libertarians more accurately than this speech?
