Let's take a trip down memory lane as the DOJ files charges against New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and AG Letitia James

As the cliché goes, turnabout is fair play, and the state of New York and some of its most prominent officials are learning that the hard way.

On Wednesday, newly sworn-in U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that the Department of Justice was suing the state of New York, Governor Kathy Hochul, the state's Attorney General Letitia James, and the state's DMV Commissioner Mark Schroeder for violating the law by providing illegal aliens with driver's licenses.

Yeah, remember how Letitia has spent the last few years bragging about prosecuting Trump, and how she ran for office on the promise that she would find some way to target Trump? Here she was in 2018 laying out her plan to convict Trump on something.

And remember how Gov. Hochul taunted Trump at the DNC for the lawsuits being leveled against Trump in her state and under her direction?

As I said, turnabout is fair play, Democrats!

They're lucky this is just a civil suit, not criminal!

As reported by the New York Post, the suit seeks to hold the state accountable for not cooperating with the Trump administration's immigration policies.

'This is a new DOJ,' Bondi announced. 'New York has chosen to prioritize illegal aliens over American citizens. It stops. It stops today.'

'As you know, we sued Illinois,' Bondi added. 'New York didn't listen. So now, you're next.'

The DOJ's suit alleges that New York's "Green Light Law," which was adopted in 2019, not only provides driver's licenses to illegal aliens but actively helps them break the law and evade authorities.

The 2019 law also bars inquiries into immigration status and bans the state DMV from sharing personal information with the feds and law enforcement unless ordered by a judge. Licensees are also alerted if a federal immigration agency requests their information.

New York's Trump-hating AG is about to find out what it's like to be on the other end of federal legal action.

How's it feel, Letitia?
