Sometimes having a big heart is paid in return with gratitude, but other times, it can lead to horrific tragedy, as one mother of three in the UK found out.
As reported by the New York Post, 37-year-old Victoria Adams was horrifically murdered by a homeless man she invited to stay with her.
Investigators found Adams face down in her bedroom with a black garbage bag over her head and pillow placed on top of that, according to the report.
She was smashed in the skull at least ten times both from behind and from the side on Feb. 9, the report stated.
Ten times, in fact. With a mallet.
Adams had found the man at a homeless shelter three days earlier and offered him a bed at her house. Police found a note from her, however, asking the man to leave.
Neighbors in Hammersmith, where homes consistently sell for over $1 million, were shocked over the grisly murder — with one reporting they heard screams coming from Adams' property, according to the report.
The killer, 39-year-old Apapale Adoum, appeared in court on Tuesday to plead guilty to murder.
"Apapale Adoum." Such a traditional British name.
Adoum was arrested while attempting to break back into the Hammersmith flat — telling police he was there to reclaim his belongings.
London cops said he was in possession of the murder weapon when arrested.
That type of evidence makes the case cut-and-dry but certainly no less tragic. According to reports, Adams was known to have invited homeless people to stay with her in the past.
