I don't even know what angle to go with for this story.

Is it about Democrat incompetence and obvious DEI hires? Is it about how power-hungry people on the Left can be? Is it that some people are STILL completely brainwashed on masks and Covid?

Here's the TL/DR: The St. Louis health director imposed a mask mandate without talking to anyone. Everyone freaked out. The mayor then repealed the order in less than 24 hours. Because it was insane.

Here's the detailed version of the story:

St. Louis Health Director Dr. Matifadza (Mati) Hlatshwayo Davis, an immigrant from Zimbabwe, sent out an edict for public employees requiring that they all mask up on the job now.

She, allegedly, did this without warning anyone. She decided to mandate masks for everyone under her authority because she claimed the number of respiratory cases in St. Louis was frightening and that hospitals were being overrun.

She implemented a mask mandate for THE FLU! Not even just Covid. Flu, RSV, and Covid combined were out of control, in her mind, so she wanted to tyrannize her inferiors into muzzling with the face diaper.

It didn't work because even Democrats and doctors see that this is carrying the madness too far.

Yes, this Covid tyrant had the shortest reign of any of them. I guess, since she was only hired in 2021, she felt left out because all of her colleagues got to exercise insane authority for years and she was onboarded too late.

"The City of St. Louis has updated its communications with employees surrounding masking," a statement from Mayor Tishaura Jones' office said. "The City of St. Louis Department of Health strongly recommends masking indoors for all City of St. Louis employees, effective immediately."

There's something deliciously funny about this story.
