Everyone who has been stressing over the implosion of the Afghani government and the rise of the Taliban can breath a little more optimistically now, for the United Nations is confident that its "strongly worded press statement" is going to keep the Taliban on its toes:
Just think: If the U.N. had issued a few more strongly worded statements over the past few weeks, it might have stopped the Taliban from ever seizing power to begin with. A well-placed press release and two or three bulletins might have succeeded where 190,000 Afghani soldiers failed.
Maybe the problem isn't the number of statements issued by the U.N. but the way much of global leadership views the problem to begin with:
In no uncertain terms!
