Utah governor signs bill to put 10 Commandments back in Utah schools 😀

Utah Governor Spencer Cox signed H.B. 269 Public School History Curricula Amendments, adding the Ten Commandments to the American history curriculum across Utah schools.

In case there's any confusion, the bill defines the Ten Commandments as such:

As used in this section, "Ten Commandments" means the Decalogue, known as the Ten Commandments, as recorded in the Hebrew Scriptures in Exodus 20:2-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21.

The bill also adds the Magna Carta to the list of important historical documents and principles students should know when studying American history.

The list also includes things like the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the national motto "In God We Trust."

That last one is supposed to be displayed in one or more prominent places around the schools.

Maybe a nice plaque like this one at the Capitol Building.

The bill also says,

There shall be no content-based censorship of American history and heritage documents referred to in this section due to their religious or cultural nature.

I'm glad to see Gov. Cox has a little bit of basedness left in him.

Things were touch-and-go there for a moment!

I'm sure there will be some pushback from God-hating groups like the Satanic Temple on this one.

And who knows maybe their case will make it all the way to the Supreme Court, where the judges will rule on the matter below the watchful gaze of a tablet-holding patriarch perched within the East Pediment.

Who is that guy, anyway?
