This is scary as heck.

[Warning: Animal Violence]

This was the tour vehicle after the attack:

The woman killed was 79-year-old Gail Mattson from Minnesota, who had gone to Zambia for her "last big adventure" before turning 80.

From ABC 5 in Minneapolis:

Mattson split time between living in Minnesota and Arizona. Friends from Arizona told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Mattson was an adventurous friend who will be missed.

"She had told us that this safari was going to be her last big adventure," said John Longabauth. "Because her birthday is in the summer โ€” I think she was going to be 80, and she felt like she would start slowing down. To be honest, I don't know if she'd slow down or not. But at least you wouldn't be traveling as far, probably."

Gail died at the scene.

Five other tourists sustained injuries - one severe enough to require transport to a medical facility in neighboring South Africa.

The tour company, Wilderness, said the bull elephant was acting aggressive and began charging the vehicle without warning (elephants can run up to 30 miles per hour). CEO Keith Vincent released a statement about the incident:

Our guides are all extremely well trained and experienced but sadly the terrain and vegetation was such that the guide's route became blocked. He could not move the vehicle out of harm's way quickly enough.
