2016 video surfaces of Diddy beating his girlfriend at hotel

Isn't it kind of strange that we haven't heard any news about Diddy since, like, early April? It seems the story just sort of disappeared, am I right?

Well, not so fast, Sean "Diddy" Combs. It looks like we've got a video of you from back in 2016 beating your then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura senseless at a Los Angeles hotel.

Before I show you the video, let's get some details:

A 2016 surveillance video obtained exclusively by CNN shows Sean 'Diddy' Combs grab, shove, drag and kick his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura during an altercation that matches allegations in a now-settled federal lawsuit filed by Ventura in November.

The footage, compiled from multiple camera angles dated March 5, 2016, appears to show the rapper, producer and business mogul during an incident that, according to Ventura's complaint, occurred at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles. CNN verified the location based on publicly available photos of the former hotel's interior ...

Ventura, who reached an undisclosed settlement with Combs, declined to comment on the video obtained by CNN.

The statute of limitations has passed, for those of you wondering.

A few more words from CNN:

According to the report, 'Combs became extremely intoxicated and punched Ms. Ventura in the face, giving her a black eye, which, according to the lawsuit, prompted Ventura to try and leave the hotel room' ... The complaint says, 'as she exited, Mr. Combs awoke and began screaming at Ms. Ventura. He followed her into the hallway of the hotel while yelling at her.' The complaint goes on to say, 'he grabbed at her and then took glass vases in the hallway and threw them at her.'

Okay, let's roll the tape.

[Warning: Violence]

Yup, that looks like a man that needs to be investigated. No question about that. Beyond despicable, but hey, at least he didn't give a speech at a private university promoting motherhood and family values.

A little more context on that lawsuit Ventura filed. This is gross and not suitable for kids; you've been warned:

Elsewhere in the filing, Cassie alleges Diddy forced her to take part in 'freak offs,' or an arrangement in which she had no choice but to plan and engage in sex acts with male sex workers while he masturbated. The encounters continued for years in high-end hotels across the country and sometimes occurred as often as once a week, the lawsuit read. Diddy took photos and filmed the encounters. Cassie would delete videos shot on her phone to no avail โ€” once, she was forced to watch footage on a flight that she thought she had gotten rid of.

Following an 'FO' in 2016, he allegedly paid a hotel $50,000 to erase hallway surveillance footage of an intoxicated Diddy throwing glass vases at Cassie when she tried to escape after he gave her a black eye. She would take copious amounts of drugs 'to disassociate during these horrific encounters,' including 'ecstasy, cocaine, GHB, ketamine, marijuana, and alcohol in excessive amounts.' The excessive substance use led to addiction, Cassie said.

What a nasty man.

While we're here, here's a quick reminder of what's going on with this whole Diddy thing:

More than a month after two homes belonging to hip-hop mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs were raided by federal investigators, law enforcement has released few details as to potential charges the music producer could be facing.

Department of Homeland Security agents conducted the raids March 25 at Combs' multimillion-dollar mansion in Los Angeles and his Miami waterfront home.

The raids came as the producer faces a mounting list of civil lawsuits that allege abuse and sexual assault by multiple victims spanning over 30 years.

Combs has denied all the allegations.

Of course he denied all allegations!
