Did Kamala Harris really just come out and say "we're gonna require everyone to vote." Because I think she just said "we're gonna require everyone to vote."
The reporter asks her in the context of abortion what she could accomplish in a Biden/Harris second term. Check out the answer she gives, because it seems like she's talking about "getting there" โ to a second term โ and requiring everyone to vote in order to "get there." You tell me.
"To get there we're gonna require everyone to vote."
Notice how she moves on: "In terms of a second term."
So I gotta wonder what Veep means when she says "we're gonna require everyone to vote," cuz it sure sounds like "we're gonna require everyone to vote ... and that is no small matter."
Here, check this out from the Commission on the Practice of Democratic Citizenship and their Reinventing American Democracy for the 21st Century, because it seems important that this is one of their goals:
Establish, through congressional legislation, that voting in federal elections be a requirement of citizenship, just as jury service is in the states. All eligible voters would have to participate, in person or by mail, or submit a valid reason for nonparticipation. Eligible voters who do not do so would receive a citation and small fine.
This commission is funded by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund.
So yeah, sounds like Kamala accidentally said the quiet part out loud.
Oh, and in case you missed it, here's that CNN reporter fawning over Kamala because we all know how popular Kamala is.
