Was that a racist statement you directed toward Sen. Tim Scott, Mr. Cuomo?

Chris, let's have a chat.

Some people — not me, but some people — are saying that singling out Sen. Tim Scott, who is black, and accusing him of "carrying water" for President Trump is a racist and hateful thing to say. One that REEKS of white supremacy.

Some people are talking about the definition of the phrase "to carry someone's water," and pointing out that it means "To be subservient to and uncritical of someone; to do someone's bidding; To support someone, especially in an submissive or uncritical manner."

Subservient. Submissive. Uncritical. Did you really just call a black man those things, referring to his relationship to a white man, Mr. Cuomo?

In 2020?

Some people are saying that if a Fox News host were to make a similar remark about a black Democratic senator "carrying water" for Joe Biden, then that host's name would be trending on Twitter along with the word "racist" before the next commercial break.

I'm just telling you what some people are saying.
