Washington, D.C. Produces List of Monuments to Be "Removed, Relocated, or Contextualized," and it Includes the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial

As Washington, D.C. continues to be consumed by totally peaceful riots, the mayor of D.C., Muriel Bowser, has turned her attention to the VERY important task of exposing racist monuments and insensitive names on buildings.

A working group assembled by the mayor has identified myriad public schools, government buildings, parks, and playgrounds that need to be renamed immediately, as well as a list of NATIONAL MONUMENTS to be "renamed, removed, or contextualized."

The report identified 21 schools that need to be renamed, including schools named after Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, Francis Scott Key, and Woodrow Wilson among many others.

Oh and the group has identified several national monuments they have deemed "problematic" and decided that the federal government needs to "remove, relocate, or contextualize" them:

That's correct, the city of WASHINGTON, D.C. wants to remove or rename the WASHINGTON MONUMENT.

Maybe they could take a page out of the Washington Football Team playbook and just rename it "The Monument."
