New Law Requires All Washington State Public Schools To Teach LGBTQ+ History

No kidding. The governor just signed a law mandating this.

This would've been a rejected headline in the Babylon Bee writers room a few years ago. Now, it's reality.

This week, Washington Democratic Governor Jay Inslee signed a bill into law mandating that all public schools in the state teach LGBTQ history as a required curriculum …

The new bill requires that educators develop a curriculum that includes the history and contributions of people from the LGBTQ movement, including those from various racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds.

The legislation mandates that the Washington State School Directors' Association must create the material by June 1, 2025. That will be followed by the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) creating a schedule for revisions to the state learning standards by Sept. 1, 2025.

By Oct 1, 2025, all public schools are required to implement the new curriculum.

So now, when your kid enters the classroom, all those crazy teachers who've been lurking in the shadows — decorating their rooms with pride flags and BLM memorabilia — they'll be free to teach your kid whatever they want about homosexuality and all the sexualities that come along with the ever-expanding 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Heck, might as well cover "Minor Attracted People" history while we're at it!

One of the primary sponsors of the bill was far-left Democratic State Sen. Marko Liias, who, last year, championed controversial Senate Bill 5599 which critics say encourages minors to run away from home to receive sex changes and abortions without parental consent and at taxpayer expense.

Imagine having to explain to George Washington that the state named after him is doing stuff like this!
