A nightmare scenario in Florida last week nevertheless worked out just fine thanks to local law enforcement and some quick-thinking fishermen:
Florida law enforcement officials rescued 11 people from a capsized boat off Tampa Bay's Beer Can Island on Sunday.
Hillsborough County sheriff's officials received a call at approximately 5:24 p.m. about several people stranded in the water.
The Hillsborough sheriff's Marine Unit arrived via air and sea to discover the boaters, who included men, women and children, swimming around the overturned boat.
That's no joke: When you have a bunch of people in the water, especially kids, you got to get them out ASAP. And thankfully that's what happened:
A group of good Samaritans noticed the sinking boat and "arrived immediately" to rescue people from the water.
Well done, heroes!
