Remember that massive explosion that rocked Beirut, Lebanon earlier this year?
The August 4th blast, which was caused by the detonation of 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate, left over 200 dead, 6,000 injured, and led to the resignation of Lebanon's entire government.
Well, now we've got a ton more information about exactly what happened. A group called Forensic Architecture was tasked with modeling the incident and the results of their work give a fascinating insight into the details of that tragic day.
Forensic Architecture was invited by Mada Masr to examine open source information including videos, photographs, and documents to provide a timeline and a precise 3D model to help investigate the events of that day.
