WATCH: Turning Point USA staff attacked by pro-Hamas mob outside Jewish businesses in famous Chicago suburb

Imagine if this mob were carrying MAGA flags and if the victims were black.

[Warning: Violence, Language]

TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk confirmed that staff members had been assaulted.

This is our TPUSA staffer, Peter Christos, who is Christian, not Jewish. Yesterday, he was violently attacked while he and another TPUSA staffer were trying to escort an elderly Jewish couple away from a pro-Israel rally. On the way to their cars, they encountered pro-Hamas supporters who assaulted them, punched them repeatedly, and hit them with a flag pole before cops could pull them away to safety. All of these thugs need to be arrested and charged with hate crimes.

The Chicago suburb of Skokie is a historically Jewish neighborhood. After WWII, over half the population of the city was Jewish, including many survivors of the Holocaust. It also has a claim to fame in American legal history.

The city was targeted by neo-Nazis in the 1970s, who filed for a permit to have a white power march in Skokie. This resulted in a court battle that ended up at the Supreme Court (National Socialist Party of America v. Village of Skokie), where SCOTUS justices ruled 5-4 in favor of the neo-Nazis' right to assemble.

(It doesn't take much imagination to guess why the anti-Jewish, pro-Hamas types would gather in Skokie.)

Other videos circulating on social media labelled a Jewish counterprotest as violent after a man was arrested for firing his gun at the pro-Palestinian crowd.

According to police, however, the 39-year-old man will not be charged because he acted in self-defense.

"After reviewing the evidence, which includes surveillance video and witness statements, we have determined the individual โ€ฆ acted in self-defense upon being surrounded by a crowd and attacked by some of those individuals," according to the statement.

Do you know how hard it is to legally carry a gun in Illinois, let alone have a shoot be justified?

The fact that the police aren't charging this guy is saying something!!

The Sun-Times has some other specific details:

A crowd of approximately 200 pro-Palestinian protesters had gathered about 4 p.m. Sunday outside an event that was called to show solidarity with Israel at Ateres Ayala, a banquet hall in Skokie, but were kept some distance away from the property by police.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m., a smaller group of protesters moved south across Touhy Avenue after seeing the man exit his sedan and chase a woman who appeared to take an Israeli flag off his car, according to nearby camera footage.

He was surrounded by protesters, according to a chaotic video of the incident provided to the Sun-Times by a witness, and then a gunshot could be heard on the video.

People scream and the crowd scatters, and the man can be seen holding the gun as someone screams, "Get him! Get him!"

Mostly peaceful violence.

Stay frosty out there, America.

And remember, if things were reversed, it would be all over the news for a month!
