The Gatorland theme park and nature preserve in Orlando, Florida is currently hosting its annual Halloween event "Gators, Ghosts & Goblins" but I, personally, would be much more worried about the gators than either the ghosts or goblins present at the event.
The theme park has a lovely Halloween tradition of giving their animals pumpkins to play with and munch on. And while I'm sure Halloween at the park is full of scary costumes and events, nothing can top the terror of the alligators themselves, which are truly modern-day dinosaurs.
Yikes.

And as fun and festive as those may be, I have no doubt in my mind that those alligators would treat my head exactly like they treat those Jack-O-Lantern heads if they had the chance.
Which is why you won't find me laying my noggin down next to a swamp any day of the year.
Really, what scarier thing can you conjure up for spooky day? I'll wait...
