A new report from the GLAAD Media Institute, an extortion racket that threatens Hollywood creators if their films and shows aren't gay enough, published a report warning that 41% of the LGBTQ+ characters on TV will be gone by next year.

So sad!

According to the report, what's driving this is that most "trans-inclusive" shows such as Clean Slate, Heartstopper, The Umbrella Academy, and 9-1-1: Lone Star are being cancelled.

The report then laments the spate of cancellations, admitting that these characters are designed to produce social change:

Television is a powerful medium, because these characters grow and evolve over the years, alongside the audience," the report reads. "When so many series are only being greenlit for short runs and the seasons themselves are getting shorter, the potential larger impact of these characters disappears. Less than half of the LGBTQ characters counted appear on renewed series, and with their loss comes a loss of possibility for impact that continues for years with an audience, creating social change.

So it looks like we'll sadly be missing out on characters such as:

Laverne Cox from Clean Slate, a black due who wears a dress:

Amazon Prime

The gay/bisexual rugby players on Heartstopper:

Paul Strickland, the transgender firefighter in 911: Lone Star

Fox

Has anyone even heard of these shows? Almost zero people are interested in watching this stuff.

This is just one of the pages in this 56-PAGE report. How miserable and insane is this?

Conservatives online are already reacting to the delightful news:

Who knows? Maybe we'll start getting some good TV shows again.
