Welcome to Texas, y'all, where the woman you kidnapped and robbed will visit you in prison

Y'all might not be from around here, but in Texas we like to show that ol' southern hospitality even to the dastardly criminals actively working to ruin our society:

A Houston woman has described a bizarre carjacking where knifemen listened to jazz with her, apologized and even gave her a pep talk as they robbed her of $2,000.

Becky Brown, 73, said she would even visit one of the young men in jail who she felt had 'this kindness in him' after he expressed remorse for taking her money.

That's just the kind of reaction you'd expect when you're raised the Texas way.

And yes, these guys did kidnap Ms. Brown. They held her at knifepoint, spent hours attempting to wire money from her bank account using her phone, and eventually drove her to an ATM, where they forced her to withdraw $2,000.

Quite obviously these guys deserve to be in prison for a very long time. To that end, the one crook who's been arrested is being held on $300,000 bond. The judge knows what's up.

So does Becky Brown, who seems to recognize that these guys should be behind bars. But that doesn't preclude her from extending a generous heart toward them:

'There's a dichotomy of what's going on in our culture. I feel sorry for him in a way. From somewhere in him, he had this kindness, and he meant it,' Brown said.

...

'When they got out of my car, the last thing the guy, who had never said anything, said to me was, "Go to your music festivals." If he were to go to jail, I would visit him. Yeah, I would go visit him,' Brown added.

Keep it up, Texas.
