Following the conveniently-timed lead of New York Gov. Cuomo, Chicago mayor and crypt-keeper Lori Lightfoot is saying it's suddenly time to reopen the city's businesses, even as the number of Covid cases remain high in the city.

Lightfoot said the reason for reopening now was because without bars and restaurants, people were just gathering in homes with other people without taking Covid precautions.

"If we have people and give them an outlet for entertainment in the restaurant space, in the bar space, we have much more of an opportunity, in my view, to be able to regulate and control that environment."
