It's good to see that our complete and total moral and scientific collapse is actually speeding up. It means we're going to get to the end of this awful mess just a little bit quicker:
The American Medical Association (AMA) has suggested that taxpayers should subsidize uterus transplants worth up to $300,000 to help transgender women get pregnant.
Arguments were made to reduce the cost of the surgery in its Journal of Ethics issue in June titled Patient-Centered Transgender Surgical Care.
Oh, a group of doctors is advocating a needless, poisonous, debilitating medical procedure that will only serve to make people worse off? Why on earth would they do that?
Oh. $300,000. I see.
The doctors note that "no reliable estimates exist on how many [men ... might be candidates for or want [uterus transplants]." I have a feeling that the number, whatever it is, would go significantly up if we proposed that taxpayers start footing the bill for the surgeries. Make something "free" and people will consume more of it โ and that includes deeply unwell men who think they are women.
Apparently "some clinicians" have argued that there are "no absolute barriers in anatomy, hormones, and obstetric considerations that would rule out the possibility of successful UTx in [men]." Again, those "clinicians" probably have a considerable amount of money to gain by opening up a huge money spigot from unwell men who want to have uteruses grafted into their abdomens.
But the social impetus for pushing this garbage is also very strong. As the quacks put it:
[L]ack of a uterus is an obstacle to full participation in the social goods attached to women's identity.
Disgraceful.
The decline continues โ but remember, we haven't hit bottom yet. We'll get there.
