Disney bought Fox Entertainment in 2019, and with that purchase came ownership of several franchises, but none more worrisome than The Simpsons.

The big worry was that Disney would tame the irreverent sitcom into family-friendly fare. But now in 2024, we can confirm that is not at all the direction Disney has taken. The Simpson is now hot-woke garbage.

And the funny thing is that the whole premise is completely incorrect. Most servers in Europe are not earning a living wage, even with a 12 to 13 euro per-hour minimum wage.

It turns out the higher the minimum wage, the higher the cost of living.

In fact, servers earning $2.13 minimum wage in the U.S. make way more because of tips. There are servers in the U.S. making upwards of $100,000.

Granted, the server at Denny's probably isn't doing as well as the one at Gordon Ramsey's Hell's Kitchen in Atlantic City when it comes to tips, but they're probably both living better than the average European server.

The Simpsons take is also incorrect because as Europeans pointed out servers do get tipped in Europe, though the culture and reasons for tipping are different.

(And don't even get me started on the "healthcare is free" line.)
