Well, he's back.
Yes, former New Jersey governor Chris Christie who literally hugged Barrack Obama and metaphorically carried him across the finish line in 2012 and then threw his weight behind Donald Trump in 2016 is now entering the 2024 race.
And this time, he's casting himself as the anti-Trump candidate.
Oh boy! Another RINO Republican hell-bent on stopping Trump and returning to a more "moderate" conservatism. Just what the party totally needs.
Christie, whose intentions were reported earlier by Axios, is expected to make his announcement Tuesday at an event in New Hampshire, which tends to favor more moderate candidates. He focused his 2016 presidential bid there as well, but finished sixth in the state's primary and dropped out of the race.
The former two-term governor is known for his willingness to throw a political punch, with Trump being his most recent target.
Let's hope that the media treats the Christie candidacy with all the seriousness it deserves.
Maybe they'll take a page out of the Barbara Walters playbook.
Good luck, Chris! Welcome to the 2024 party.
