Ruh roh.
The lawyer has finally released the Kraken.
Sidney Powell has accepted a plea deal in the Georgia case against Donald Trump and his associates for a conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election.
This means that Powell is going to get out of jail time in exchange for testimony for the prosecution AGAINST Donald Trump.
As part of the deal, she will serve six years of probation, will be fined $6,000 and will have to write an apology letter to Georgia and its residents. She also agreed to testify truthfully against her co-defendants at future trials.
You'll recall that Powell claimed she had a bunch of dirt that she could prove wrongdoing on the part of Dominion Voting Systems after the 2020 election. She trotted out on stage with Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis to say she was going to "release the Kraken" and made the rounds on conservative media with those claims.
Of course, nothing ever came of it. Dominion sued Powell for $1.3 billion. Now she's cutting a deal to get out of jail time.
One thing many people might overlook, however, is that Trump released a statement on November 22, 2020, about a week after her claims, disavowing any connection to her:
With her reputation and trustworthiness as bad as they are, and considering the incentives now placed before her, her testimony might not be worth much. We'll have to see.
Either way, I look forward to Trump's comments on the matter!
