Whole Foods CEO in hot water for ... saying that obesity is caused by bad food choices!
· Sep 28, 2020 · NottheBee.com

In an interview with the New York Times, the CEO of Whole Foods had the utter audacity to suggest that people are responsible for their own food choices:

In some sense, we're all food addicts. We love things that are rich, that are sweet. We love ice cream. We love popcorn. We love French fried potatoes. And the market is providing people what they want. I don't think there's an access problem. I think there's a market demand problem. People have got to become wiser about their food choices. And if people want different foods, the market will provide it.

Can you believe the utter audacity of this guy, saying something so absolutely true... in public? What a jerk!

Like, you're really going to tell me that making unhealthy choices is more likely to make me fat than making healthy choices?

You're not gonna believe this, but Twitter, the bastion of calm, reasonable discussion, was quick to respond with outrage and name-calling:

Ah, yes. Because Everything is Racist™.

And here's my favorite part, because the Woke Left really can't make up their mind. As our friend just pointed out, gentrification --which is basically the practice of successful, established businesses opening up in poorer neighborhoods, thereby elevating the economic opportunities in the area-- is bad. Well then, I guess Whole Foods shouldn't open up stores in poor areas, right? That should make everyone happy!

Welp.

Now, to be fair, Whole Foods is absolutely the most pretentious grocery store since pretension was invented. As many people have pointed out, they sell something called "Asparagus Water," which is quite literally just a couple asparagus stocks in water:

Like, I literally have no idea what one would do with asparagus water. I'm not even sure I want to know!

And, of course, there's the infamous pre-peeled oranges, for only $6:

...They even come conveniently prepackaged in a plastic box. Because, you know...

Oranges don't already come with a protective covering or anything.

All though ridiculously overpriced Whole Foods is probably the last place on earth that should be lecturing us on making smart choices with our money, that doesn't make their CEO wrong about the basic principle of being responsible for oneself. The beauty of a free market is you can choose not to buy McDonald's cheeseburgers that keep for 14 years OR Whole Foods' $14 pre-melted ice juice.

Okay, okay, I made that last one up. But it was totally believable, right?
